Dr Peer spent his community service year in the most rural underserviced areas of Natal, at the foothills of the beautiful green rolling hills Drakensberg Mountains best described by Alan Paton in his most famous work “Cry the Beloved Country”. Dr Peer sacrificed much as he is from Johannesburg but prevailed pursuing the best he could with what was available.
Later in his career he was offered post in Western Cape Greater Karoo or Cape Town, but fell for Beaufort West, being the only Dental Surgeon at Beaufort West Hospital and Clinic, travelling as far as a 100km or more to the dustiest beautiful little towns. Assisting with feeding schemes and making new friends and family.
Reviews were remarkable for a Department of Health Hospital and Clinic such that our clinic won the number 1 spot for the first time in a really, really, long time.
Dr Peer is dedicated to advancing clinical excellence through a lifelong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD). By consistently integrating cutting-edge modalities and innovative chairside technologies, he ensures his practice remains at the forefront of modern dentistry. He is currently expanding his clinical scope through the Orthodontics programme at the London Dental Institute and is nearing completion of a Master of Science in Periodontics and Oral Medicine, further solidifying his expertise in managing complex multidisciplinary cases.
A bursary provided by UWC offered him a chance to achieve a Diploma in Forensic Odontology marking a Reliable tool in reading previous Oral and Radiographic to current treatments, as well as to participate in and as part of Medico-legal expertise and trauma cases assessing relevant anatomic structures which allows closure to loved ones after catastrophic or fatal events.
Over time, furthering studies become natural that A Masters in Paediatrics (Dip) (EU) providing greater and updated knowledge on treatment procedures, materials, needs in treatment and behaviour management. Educating Kids. Advising Parents on the Oral Condition and Development in an effort to not need invasive treatments currently and in the future.
Our rooms uses the Facility available downstairs for Sedation at Theatre at the Mayo Day Clinic. At a later stage, we welcome advanced units that allow Conscious Sedation for comfortable, relaxed treatment for both Adults and Kids, In-Rooms.
Dr Peer is licensed ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support in Training) so you are in safe hands.
